2011 Liberty Fall Festival Parade Instructions

Date:     Saturday, 9/24/11
What:    Fall Festival Parade
Time:     10:30 am (11:00 am parade start time)

Staging for the parade begins at 9:30 am with the parade starting at 11:00 am and ending at noon.  We would like the football players and cheerleaders to arrive between 10:30 and 10:40 am at the location marked on the map below.  Football participants should wear their football jersey, pants or shorts and tennis shoes.  Cheerleaders should come in full uniform with poms.

Each team will need several rostered volunteers (coaches, team manager, etc) to accompany the team's players on the parade route.  The entire parade route is approximately 1.5 miles.  The team can walk behind a team banner or if  you want to have the team ride on a trailer/float that is okay too.  It's up to you how much coordination, work and decorating your team would like to do.  If you will be entering a vehicle/trailer into the parade please let me know so I can get you the sign to put in the window and the details on how/where to meet us on Kansas St.

Kansas Street as well as the entire parade route will be closed for parade staging prior to the parade.  Players should be dropped off at the corner of Ridge and College Street at the back corner of Liberty Junior High School.  We will have volunteers there that will help your child meet up with their team which will be lining up on Kansas Street.  From the drop off point parents should park in an area near the end of the parade route, which is the front of Liberty Junior High School.  Our parents should watch the parade from near the end of the parade route (the end of W. Franklin toward LJHS) to easily reunite with their child at the parade's conclusion.

With the first games that day starting at 2:30 there should be time between the parade and the first game to get a bite to eat and change into full uniform.

Team and individual participation in the parade is optional, however I hope your team chooses to joins us.  Last year was our first year walking in the parade and the kids really seemed to enjoy it.  If you are not planning on participating as a team please let me know.
