The Tiny Mite Eagles (Division II, 5/6 year olds) beat the undefeated #1 seed Fort Osage Indians for their final playoff game. The Eagles opened their season with 2 losses, but then rolled off 7 straight wins! Way to go team! The Eagles will play the Blue Springs Gators in the Truman Bowl for the league championship title. The Junior Midget Blue Jays (Division III, 11/12 year olds) beat the Kansas City Wildcats in their final playoff game. The Blue Jays overall record was 6-2, with only 1 loss within their division. The Blue Jays will play the Kearney Bulldogs for the league championship. If the Blue Jays win the Truman Bowl they will go on to compete for the Mid-America Region Championship title. The games are single elimination with the quarter-finals in Omaha, sub-regionals back here in Independence and the Mid-America Region Championship game in Indiana. Good luck Jays! Five of Liberty's football teams were in the final round of the playoffs competing for a highly coveted Truman Bowl championship berth, with the two teams listed above advancing. Congratulations to the Liberty teams below who are all within the top 4 teams in their divisions:
