Thank you to all who inquired about the Cheer Coordinator
position. Felicia Mauzey has eagerly pursued the
opportunity and can't wait to get the 2009 squads formed.
Felicia, a former Pop Warner and high school cheerleader
herself, brings to the program many years of cheer, dance
and tumbling experience.
This
year's cheerleading program will benefit from an
experienced and energetic staff whose goals are to build
multiple squads to compete in regional and national cheer events
in addition to performing at weekly football games, including
half-time shows.
Participants will learn age appropriate tumbling, stunts,
formations and choreographed dance/cheer routines. We
encourage anyone between the ages of 5 and 13 who is interested
in cheering recreationally or competitively to get their start
or advance their skills while enjoying the benefits of cheering
for a sports team and lively crowd.

Update |
|
New for the 2009 season is a Division 3
offering in addition to the current Division 2 our teams have been
participating in. Division 2 will be comprised of the most
competitive teams and those teams that are trying to qualify for the
National Championship "Superbowl" game held in Florida each year.
One of the benefits of adding Division 3 is there will now be two
Truman Bowls at the end of the season; one for Division 2 and one
for Division 3 teams, giving more teams an opportunity to
compete for a championship at their own skill level. The
details governing the two divisions are still being worked out
within the Heart of America League, however another player benefit
of participating on a Division 3 team will be a higher per player
minimum play requirement. It will be up to each Liberty head
coach and the Board of Directors to determine which Division each
team will participate in. |
